This is my first Hot Rod toy. I bought on Apr. Xvi, Mmi and it cost me about $XLV. Thank God they re-issued him again because back in the old day there was no way I could afford him. So now, he's part of my toy collection.

"My actions speak louder than words."
Hot Rod is an all-American-boy Autobot. He's a typical adolescent who dreams of being heroic and important. He tends to follow rules too closely. Althought he means well, Hot Rod's impulsive actions often get him into trouble. He carries two photon lasers that temporarily electromagnetize an enemy robot's microcircuits. Speed:1200 mph. Range;4 miles. He can be hot-headed, but he's always a well meaning, admirable lad and a brave and honrable fighter.

R-2 Pre-Applied Decals/ Stickers:
There are two Pre-Applied sticker that had been applied onto Hot Rod. The first one is located on the front hood of the car. It's a yellow and orange decal with the Autobot insignia. The second one is the Autobot Rub Sign logo, located on top of his car roof.
R-3 Hot Rod in Vehicle mode:
Hot Rod's futuristic sport car definitely looks hot in both the toy and the cartoon. In addition, either one of his weapons can be mounted onto his car hood engine to create a battle mode sport, right corner image. The interior car detail was done nicely too since you can see that mimic leather seat. Too bad, his car roof doesn't open to allow passenger in like the cartoon, then that would make this car the bomb.
R-4 Hot Rod in Robot mode:
In robot mode, Hot Rod looks great from the frontal view as well as cartoon accurate too. On the other hands, the side view is very disturbing since it basically hollow. Hot Rod comes with two weapons which gives him that cowboy look despites none of those weapons were ever shown in the Transformers the Movie and maybe in the regular cartoon series too. Hot Rod biggest weakness is articulation since his toy has the potential to do it but the designer didn't give him one.
