A quick comment:      Back to G-1: Review A-IX    Main Page

This is my first Kup action figure.  As a kid, I had always wanted to own one but never really got such luck due to financial problem.  So after two decades later, he is now mine to own.  Anyhow, I bought it on Sept. Iii, Mmv and it cost me $XLIII from Image Anime.

Original G1 Kup Bio:

A grizzled veteran with 10,000 tall tales from his 1,000 adventures-has advice for his pals in any situation, whether they want to hear it or not.  Recoil, his Nebulan partner, is an old musket laser and former all-world prismaball (most popular sport on Nebulos) player.  In vehicle mode, maximum speed: 1000 mph, range: 800 miles.

R-1 Kup in its Original condition:

kuporig.jpg (65380 bytes)1 - Front and back of the box: "Transformers Collection #20 - Kup w/ Targetmaster, and Wheelie."

2 - Here's how it looked once you opened the cover revealing Kup w/ Targetmaster, Wheelie,  and contents.

3 - Contents are sandwiched between two clear plastic tray while the paper works are sealed in a separate bag.

4 - These are all the contents that were included in the box/ package/ card: "1" pick up car,  "1" Kup regular gun, "1" Kup targetmaster gun, "1" Wheelie car,  "1" Kup sticker sheet, "2" trading cards, "1" instruction sheet, "1" miscellaneous text sheet, "1" world art image featuring Kup/Targetmaster/Wheelie, "2" Kup and Wheelie cover art with toy catalog (feature: Pretender D-201 to D-203, D-301 to D-310), and "3" data files (images of Skywarp, Wheelie, and Kup).

R-2 Pre-Applied Decals/ Stickers:

There are 5 Pre-Applied Stickers that were applied onto Kup.  The first pre-applied sticker is actually the large sticker that has strip of bar lines which sit at the back of the pick up truck.  The second one is located at the middle but rear of the pick up truck.  The third and forth sticker is put at the rear or bottom of the feet.  And last but not least, the final pre-applied sticker is the Autobot Rubsign which can be found at the top of the pick up truck.

Kup Sticker Sheet:

DecalKup.jpg (42379 bytes)There are 11 registered numbering of stickers on the sticker sheet.  But in reality it's actually 13 stickers since some of the decals/ stickers are grouped or paired together and labeled it as one.  These registered numbering do not include the Pre-applied stickers.

NOTE-2: The Targetmaster Kup has 1 sticker less than the Regular Kup due to the extra targetmaster peg.

R-3 Kup in Vehicle Mode:

kupveh1.jpg (41107 bytes)In vehicle mode, Kup is a futuristic pickup truck whose measurement is approximately 5 1/4 x 2 6/16 x 2 (LxWxH in inch).  Kup is one of the few Season 3 figures to have both mode looks very much like the cartoon.  It's easy to spot that this is the Targetmaster Kup version because it has an extra peg sticking out at the back of his pickup truck (top middle image) so that his Nebulan partner Recoil can be bond onto, see R-5 for image.  This bottom platform where the peg reside used to be a sticker on the regular Kup.  Other than the peg, both the regular and the Targetmaster Kup is pretty much the same.

R-4 Kup in Robot Mode:

kuprob1.jpg (46293 bytes)Kup robot mode is very good for his G1 era unlike some of the other figures which either has a joint leg or looks nothing like the cartoon.  He is very sturdy and stable when place on the ground which is a good thing.  The transformation is simple and interesting in a way.  As for articulation, like many of the G1 figures, Kup basically just has the arm and a slight tilt of the head.

R-5 Kup in Attack Mode:

kupdet1.jpg (38504 bytes)In addition to his own regular rifle, Kup's Nebulan partner can be transformed into a double laser rifle and be plugged either to Kup's hand or at the back of the pickup truck (top right image).  Kup regular rifle can also be plugged onto the back pickup truck just like the targetmaster gun.  In fact, it looks even better with the regular gun at the back of the pickup truck than the targetmaster gun because it matches the scale perfectly..

R-6 Nebulan Partner - Recoil:

kuptargetmaster1.jpg (31467 bytes)kuptargetmaster2.jpg (36946 bytes)This is Recoil, a flesh creature from the planet Nebulan whoe wears an exo-suit that can be transformed from robot into a gun - thus the name Targetmaster.  In gun mode, he measures approximately 2 13/16 x 1 1/8 x1 1/8 (LxWxH).  Other than his sit position which is part of his transformation sequence, he features no real articulation.  Recoil dimension:

Height Up To The Head 2 3/16  Maximum Height: 2 3/16  Width from shoulder to shoulder: 1 1/8  Maximum Width: 1 3/16 (from hand to hand)  Dept: 14/16.
