A quick comment:     Back to Review A-I     Back to Ultra Magnus Homepage

I thought the Ultra Magnus Super Deformed figure looks great as well as hilarious in mocking the original 1986 TFTM.  That was my first impression which later motivated me to purchase it.  I got Ultra Magnus SDF on Dec. V, Mmvi which cost me $XVII.XCIX from Ebay.

Ultra Magnus Statue Box Inscription's Bio:

First 4 Figures in association with Action Figure Xpress is proud to present a highly limited edition of 500 pieces of the SD Ultra Magnus Statue.  The statue was based off "SD Transformers Statue coolest" winning entry from Xuwei aka Iron Bird.  This statue stands 5 inches tall and is made out of resin, each one is individual hand painted and comes with a numbered base.

R-1 Ultra Magnus SDF in its Original condition:

magnussdorig.jpg (59346 bytes)1 - Ultra Magnus SD in its brand new condition from the box.

2 - Side panel of the box which shows the actual statue.

3 - Underneath of the outer cover box, we are exposed to a white spongy foam material.  I took one of the panels off just to show what Magnus SD looks like inside the white spongy container..

4 - Finally, we saw the actual Ultra Magnus SD which was wrapped inside a clear bag.

R-2 Ultra Magnus SD - Frontal View:

magnussdfig1.jpg (39773 bytes)magnussdfig2.jpg (38527 bytes) Ultra Magnus SD was based on a Summer Contest in 2005 on Transformers Deformed Arts held by one of the transformer boards called TFW2005.com.  The winner contestant would be decided by a poll and operated from First 4 Figure website.  Xu Wei's G1 Ultra Magnus super deformed art won the contest so his art was made into a statue by First 4 Figures.  It was released in 2006 in the amount of 500 quantities.  The sculpture itself is very much true to the art that was drawn by Xu Wei, see R-5.  Ultra Magnus Super Deformed statue is made out of resin and is nicely painted.  Colors of the statue are primary dark blue, red, bright white, and a gray base.  From head to the base, it stands approximately 5 3/4 x 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 (LxWxD in inch).  This statue is a mockery of the G1 Ultra Magnus from TF The Movie where he tried to open the Matrix but failed to do so.  A joke to this statue is that Ultra Magnus tried so hard to open the matrix but ended up breaking the handles and the Matrix ball falls down.  In addition, the sad expression of his face on the mouth is priceless.

Currently, there are 5 statues of Ultra Magnus that got released so far:  Three statues are with the armor on and two are the white Prime repaint or just Magnus.  Here are the full list of Ultra Magnus statues: Hard Hero Ultra Magnus bust 2004, Palisades Magnus statue 2004, AFX Ultra Magnus Super Deformed 2006, Diamond Select Magnus Mini-Head 2006, Diamond Select Ultra Magnus Bust 2009.

R-3 Ultra Magnus SD - Side and Rear View:

magnussdfig4.jpg (37464 bytes)magnussdfig3.jpg (34608 bytes)Here are the left side and rear view of the Ultra Magnus SD.  Overall it looks very much okay.  But if you want to be very picky, the rear image of Ultra Magnus lower leg should contain some blue color.  The same can be said for the side image, that is, the thigh should have some white color.  But then again, since this figure is meant to be a Super Deformed figure, everything is all forgiven.

R-4 Ultra Magnus SD - Top and Under View:

magnussdfig5.jpg (35475 bytes)magnussdfig6.jpg (42765 bytes)The next set of images arethe top and bottom view of the statue.  Underneath the statue base, there are 4 circular black fabric which acts as a stopper to prevent the whole statue from sliding.  Also, this is where the copyrights, the total quantity, and what quantity you are owning are all written in here.  The number pertaining to your ownership is in hand numbered style while the rest of the text are preprinted.   As you can see, I owned Ultra Magnus SD #404 out of 500 copies.

R-5 Ultra Magnus SD - In Art Form:

SDultramagnus2.jpg (31598 bytes)SDultramagnus.jpg (33732 bytes)Before the statue, there is the art.  Well, the image at the left is a computer generated of Ultra Magnus SD in his original colors before it was put out as statue.  With the success of the first wave, F4F has decided to release another limited edition of Ultra Magnus SD in his diaclone colors version (right image) with only 100 pieces would be made.
